Barcelona modernista

Back to Easter in Barcelona’s main page

Barcelona is, mostly, modern.
Outside the Barri Gotic, a large part of the town was rebuilt from the ground in the second half of the 19th century.
And in those areas you can easily find some of the most beautiful buildings of the catalan modernisme.

The most known buildings are realized by a mad architet (Antoni Gaudí).
The most known work is of course the Sagrada Família (or, better, el Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia), the unfinished hallucination he filled this last years with.

But the greatest building he made, in our opinion, is the Casa Batlló (the house of Batlló’s family).
Enjoying that building is a great experience, also in a full-booked day like Easter Monday.

Every detail had the greatest care, and the windows, doors as well as the tiles and the structural details are thought to comply the handwork (because Casa Batlló is actually an handwork).

We also enjoyed other nice places, and unfortunately in one of the most important and pleasant building is not allowed to shoot any photo. So, I haven’t any image from the Palau de la Música catalana (Palace of the catalan music).

But a nice weather welcomed us when we went to Parc Güell

And other places…
